Between 2020 and 2024, the association Philosophie.ch published Dialectica, a general analytic philosophy journal and the official organ of the European Society of Analytic Philosophy. Between 2004 and 2019, Dialectica was published by Blackwell-Wiley. As of 2020, Dialectica is available in full Open Access.
Supported by an SNSF project, a swissuniversities project and the Swiss university libraries of Berne and Zurich, Philosophie.ch developed an open and free-for-all-to-use publishing workflow, based on the markdown language and MacFarlane's pandoc.
While the flipping of Dialectica was painstakingly hard and took much more time than anticipated, it allowed Philosophie.ch to become a full-blown Open Access publisher. In the future, we aim to continue this work, focussing on our book series mostly for the time being.
In the meantime, we have made our "Open Manual of Style", our "OA toolkit" and some of the materials of our bibliography project publicly and freely available. The software we have developed is available under the DialOA label on github.
