Marlon Possard (possard)

Dr. Marlon Possard, MSc, MA

I was born in Innsbruck (Tyrol/Austria) in 1995. After graduating from high school, I studied law, economics and philosophy. I am currently a lecturer at various universities. From 2018 to 2021 I was a student and research assistant at the University of Innsbruck. I have been a guest lecturer at the Metropolitan University in London since 2020, university lecturer at the Hamburger Fernhochschule since 2021 and university assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business since 2022. In 2023 I am on a research stay in Tyrol and abroad (e.g. at the London School of Economics and Business).

I have been working as a scientist since 2022. My teaching and research focus on the areas of financial and management accounting, tax law, corporate law, business ethics, corporate ethics and white-collar crime. As part of my dissertation, I analyzed connections between white-collar crime and ethical aspects of accountants in connection with accounting fraud. From April 2023 I will write my habilitation (venia legendi) in the field of practical philosophy (philosophy of law). In my habilitation, I will examine the phenomenon of anti-state connections in the context of Thomas Hobbes' theory of the state.

Since 2022 I have also been a Young Science Ambassador for the Agency for Education and Internationalization (OeAD) of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. From January 2022 to January 2023 I was President of the Academic Stock Exchange Association Innsbruck (ABVI), which is one of the largest student associations in Tyrol.

Since 2021 I have been supervising scientific work (bachelor theses, master theses, diploma theses) as an examiner and reviewer. Since 2018 I have published various books, guest articles in magazines, scientific articles in journals and statements on legislative projects. As an expert, I am also a frequent interview partner on television and in newspapers (specifically on the subject of accounting fraud).

I live in Vienna and Tyrol.
